01Network and SIM
It works on EE, O2, Vodafone, Three, giffgaff and every other UK network, with 5G where available. Samsung lists nano-SIM and eSIM support.
02Display
Samsung specifies a flat 6.1-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen running at 48–120Hz, with up to 1,750 nits peak brightness. At 168g it is the lightest S23 and the easiest to use one-handed.
03Performance and storage
Every UK S23 uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy, so there is no Exynos version to check for. Samsung UK sold it with 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB. There is no microSD slot.
04Cameras
Samsung lists a 50MP wide, 12MP ultra wide and 10MP 3x optical telephoto, plus a 12MP selfie camera. Galaxy AI tools such as Circle to Search and Generative Edit arrived with One UI 6.1.
05Battery and charging
Samsung rates the battery at 3,900mAh when new, with 25W wired and wireless charging. It is the smallest battery in the range, so every grade has at least 85% battery health at dispatch.
06Software updates
Samsung promised four Android upgrades and five years of security updates for the S23 series. It went on sale in the UK on 17 February 2023, so security support should run to around February 2028. It was on Samsung's monthly update list on 30 Sep 2026; check the latest status before you buy.

Is a refurbished Samsung Galaxy S23 worth buying in 2026?
Yes, if you want a small phone with a Snapdragon chip and a real 3x zoom for under £300. You get Galaxy AI and about two and a half years of security updates. The trade-offs are a modest battery and shorter support than a Galaxy S24.
Who it's for
Choose it if most phones feel too big. Heavy users should look at the Galaxy S23+. For updates into the 2030s, the Galaxy S24 (from £360) is the better buy.

Yes. Every Galaxy S23 128GB and 256GB unit we sell is unlocked for any UK network. It takes a nano-SIM and an eSIM, and supports 5G where your network offers it.
Is a refurbished Galaxy S23 worth it in 2026?
Yes, a used Galaxy S23 is still a good compact phone with support left. Samsung's five-year security promise runs to around February 2028, and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is still quick.
How long will the Galaxy S23 get updates?
Samsung promises security updates for five years from launch, to around February 2028. It was still on monthly security updates when we checked on 30 Sep 2026.
