01Connectivity and compatibility
With an iPhone they pair in one tap and switch between devices signed in to the same Apple Account. The features that need an Apple device include Adaptive Audio, the Ear Tip Fit Test, Personalised Spatial Audio and automatic switching. Apple lists Hearing Test and Hearing Aid features for AirPods Pro, and Live Translation needs an Apple Intelligence-capable iPhone on iOS 26 or later. On Android or Windows they work as standard Bluetooth earbuds with noise cancellation, but without those extras, and firmware updates are delivered through Apple devices.
02Sound and noise cancellation
Apple rates the H2 chip's noise cancellation at up to twice that of the first AirPods Pro. Adaptive Audio blends cancellation and Transparency depending on your surroundings, and Conversation Awareness lowers the volume when you start speaking.
03Battery and charging
Apple rates up to 6 hours of listening with noise cancellation on and up to 30 hours using the case. Those are figures for new units: earbud batteries lose capacity with use and can't easily be replaced, so a pre-owned pair will usually run for less time. Our 12-month warranty covers faults. The USB-C case also charges on MagSafe, an Apple Watch charger or a Qi pad, and has a speaker and lanyard loop.

Pristine Condition is our label for pre-owned items in the best cosmetic condition we sell. These AirPods have had a previous owner. We don't sell them as new, and we don't call them refurbished: they're sold as pre-owned after our own checks. Pristine Condition means pre-owned and fully working, with little or no visible wear. Because they sit in your ears, you may prefer fresh tips: replacement tips are widely available, and you can message us before ordering to ask about the tips on the pair you'd receive. Earbud batteries age with use, and our 12-month warranty from The Tech Gadgets covers faults.

Our view
Is it worth buying pre-owned in 2026?
For most iPhone users, yes. AirPods Pro 2 still gets Apple's current features, including Live Translation and hearing health tools, and the USB-C case matches recent iPhones. The honest trade-off is battery: a used pair won't match the 6-hour rating, and AirPods Pro 3 adds longer battery life, IP57 and heart rate sensing.
Who it's for
Choose these if you use an iPhone, want strong noise cancellation for commuting or flights and prefer an in-ear seal. If you'd rather avoid ear tips, look at AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation. If you use a Samsung phone, Galaxy Buds3 Pro is the closer match.
