01Connectivity and compatibility
With an iPhone, iPad or Mac they pair automatically and switch between devices on your Apple Account; Personalised Spatial Audio and Find My need Apple devices. Apple says Lossless Audio works over a wired USB-C connection with compatible content. On Android and Windows they work as Bluetooth headphones with noise cancellation, controlled by the Digital Crown and noise control button, with some features limited.
02Sound and noise cancellation
Apple uses its own dynamic drivers with a high dynamic range amplifier, plus Adaptive EQ and Active Noise Cancellation with Transparency mode. The over-ear design blocks more sound passively than earbuds and suits long flights and home working.
03Battery and charging
Apple rates up to 20 hours of listening with ANC on and says a 5-minute charge gives about 1.5 hours. This 2024 version charges by USB-C instead of Lightning. A pre-owned battery will usually give less than the new rating; our 12-month warranty covers faults.

Is it worth buying pre-owned in 2026?
If you prefer over-ear headphones and use Apple devices, yes. Be aware that Apple has since released AirPods Max 2 with the H2 chip and Bluetooth 5.3; this 2024 model keeps the H1 chip and Bluetooth 5.0. At 386g, some people find them heavy for long wear.
Who it's for
Frequent flyers, home workers and anyone with an iPhone or Mac who wants full-size headphones. If you want something to carry in a pocket, AirPods Pro 3 or AirPods Pro 2 give noise cancellation in earbud form.

No. They're pre-owned and sold in Pristine Condition after testing and cleaning. They're not sealed and not refurbished by Apple.
Is this the USB-C or Lightning model?
The 2024 USB-C model. It isn't the newer AirPods Max 2.
Is the Smart Case included?
Apple ships new AirPods Max with the Smart Case and a USB-C cable, but as these are pre-owned, please don't assume either is included. Message us before ordering to confirm what's in the box.
