01Network and SIM
This is the Wi-Fi + Cellular model (Apple model A2603). It's unlocked for EE, O2, Vodafone, Three, giffgaff and other UK networks, on 4G LTE; Apple lists gigabit-class LTE with UMTS/HSPA fallback, and there's no 5G. SIM support is nano-SIM or eSIM (Apple notes eSIM isn't available in mainland China). GPS/GNSS is included on cellular models. You'll need a separate data plan for mobile data. It also has dual-band Wi-Fi for use at home.
02Display
Apple lists a 10.2-inch Retina display with True Tone, 2160 x 1620 pixels at 264 ppi and 500 nits. It works with Apple Pencil (1st generation), sold separately.
03Performance and storage
The A13 Bionic chip with Neural Engine handles browsing, streaming, email, video calls and school apps. Storage is 64GB, so keep large videos and photos backed up in iCloud. A Smart Connector on the side lets you attach a compatible keyboard without Bluetooth pairing.
04Cameras
Apple lists an 8MP Wide rear camera and a 12MP Ultra Wide with Centre Stage front camera, suited to video calls, scanning documents and casual photos.
05Battery and charging
Apple rates this iPad at up to 10 hours of web browsing or video on Wi-Fi, and up to 9 hours of web browsing on mobile data, when new. Our refurbished units have at least 85% battery health at dispatch, so expect slightly less than new. It charges through the Lightning port and keeps the 3.5mm headphone jack.

Yes, if you want an iPad with mobile data. It's the newest Home-button iPad and still supports the current iPadOS. The trade-offs are honest ones: the cameras are basic, there's no 5G and it uses Lightning rather than USB-C.
Who it's for
Choose the cellular model for travel, commuting, work in the field or a family iPad that needs data away from Wi-Fi. If you only use it at home, the Wi-Fi iPad 9th generation is simpler.
