Example: a phone returned after 3 months with a cracked screen from a drop is damage, not a fault, so it isn't covered by the warranty. A phone whose speaker stops working on its own is a fault, and it is covered.

01Haptics and adaptive triggers

Sony describes the haptic feedback as responsive vibrations that react to what happens in the game, and the adaptive triggers as giving varying levels of force and tension. Both work in PS5 games that support them. The built-in speaker and headset jack let you use audio without the TV.

02Battery and charging

Unlike an Xbox pad, the DualSense has a sealed rechargeable battery. On a used controller it may last less than on a new one, and we don't yet grade controller batteries. It charges over USB-C from the PS5 or any USB charger. Message us before ordering to confirm whether a cable is included.

What "Pristine Condition" means

This DualSense has been used before, so it's pre-owned, not new. We test and clean it before listing. Pristine Condition means pre-owned and fully working, with little or no visible wear. The photo is a product image, not your controller.

Is a pre-owned DualSense worth it?

For a second player or a replacement, yes. It's the controller Sony ships with the PS5, at £55 here. The trade-offs are battery age and normal wear within our Pristine definition. On Xbox, choose our Xbox Wireless Controller. Pair it with our PS5 console.

Is this DualSense new?

No. It's pre-owned in Pristine Condition: used, then tested and cleaned.

Is a charging cable included?

Please message us before ordering to confirm. Any USB-C cable works, including the one supplied with a PS5.

How long does the battery last?

It depends on the game and on the battery's age. As a pre-owned controller it may hold less charge than a new one; we don't yet grade controller batteries.

Does it work on PS4?

Sony doesn't list PS4 as compatible. It's made for PS5, and Sony says it also works with PC, Mac and mobile devices.

Who provides the warranty?

We do: 12 months from The Tech Gadgets, plus the Consumer Rights Act 2015 if it's faulty.
