01Network and SIM
It is unlocked for all UK networks, including EE, O2, Vodafone, Three and giffgaff, and supports 5G where available. GSMArena lists nano-SIM and eSIM support for the European model (SM-S901B); SIM support depends on the model supplied, so message us to confirm before you order if you need eSIM.
02Display
It has a flat 6.1-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen at up to 120Hz, with Gorilla Glass Victus+ front and back. At 167g it is a similar size and weight to the S23.
03Performance and storage
UK and European S22s use Samsung's Exynos 2200 with 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB. It is smooth for everyday apps but runs warmer in long gaming sessions than the S23's Snapdragon. There is no microSD slot.
04Cameras
The main camera is 50MP, alongside a 12MP ultra wide and a 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom; the selfie camera is 10MP. It is the same rear layout Samsung carried into the S23, which is why the two take similar daylight photos.
05Battery and charging
Samsung rates the battery at 3,700mAh when new, with 25W wired and 15W wireless charging. It is the smallest battery in our S22 and S23 ranges, so heavy users should pick a higher grade. Minimum battery health is 85% on every grade.
06Software updates
Samsung gave the S22 series four Android upgrades, and Android 16 (One UI 8) was the last. It moved to quarterly security updates in February 2026 and was still listed on 30 Sep 2026. Security updates depend on Samsung's policy; check the latest status before you buy.

Our view
Is a refurbished Samsung Galaxy S22 worth buying in 2026?
Only if price matters most and you will replace it within about a year. At £210 it is a capable compact phone with a 3x zoom, but security updates are expected to stop around February 2027 and the battery is small.
Who it's for
It suits light users or a stop-gap phone. For about £90 more, the Galaxy S23 gets updates to around 2028 with a cooler Snapdragon chip. If you want a bigger screen, see the Galaxy S22+.
