01Network and SIM
It works unlocked on EE, O2, Vodafone, Three, Sky Mobile and other UK networks over 4G LTE. Apple doesn't list 5G for this model. Dual SIM combines a nano-SIM and an eSIM.
02Display
Apple specifies a 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR OLED at 2688 x 1242 (458 ppi), with 800 nits typical and 1,200 nits HDR. It's the 11 Pro's panel on a larger scale, which suits films, e-books and larger text.
03Performance and storage
The A13 Bionic is shared with the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro, so the Max is no faster. Apple offered 64GB, 256GB and 512GB; the iPhone 11 Pro Max 512GB suits big photo and video libraries. Our listing also shows a 128GB option, which we're checking.
04Cameras
Per Apple, the cameras match the 11 Pro: 12MP Ultra Wide (f/2.4), Wide (f/1.8) and Telephoto (f/2.0), with 2x optical zoom in and Night mode on the Wide camera. Video goes up to 4K at 60 fps, and the 12MP front camera powers Face ID.
05Battery and charging
Apple rated the 11 Pro Max at up to 20 hours of video playback when new, 2 hours more than the 11 Pro. A used battery will be below that, so each grade has a minimum battery health at dispatch (key facts). It charges via Lightning or Qi wireless, with 18W fast charging per Apple.
06Software updates
Apple includes the iPhone 11 Pro Max in its iOS 27 device list (14 September 2026), and it received iOS 27.0.1 on 28 September 2026. It's in the oldest supported family, so the next major version isn't certain. Future security updates depend on Apple's policy; check the latest status before you buy.
