01Network and SIM
It's unlocked, so it works on EE, O2, Vodafone, Three, giffgaff and other UK networks. Samsung lists 5G, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. It takes a nano-SIM and supports eSIM, so you can run two numbers.
02Display
Samsung specifies a 6.2-inch FHD+ (2340 x 1080) Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen that adjusts between 1Hz and 120Hz, with Vision Booster for sunlight. The whole phone measures 147mm tall and weighs 167g, so it's easy to use one-handed.
03Performance and storage
Samsung UK lists the Exynos 2400 for Galaxy for UK models, with 8GB of RAM; phones sold in some other regions use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy instead. There's no microSD slot, so pick 256GB if you keep lots of photos and video on the phone.
04Cameras
Samsung lists a 50MP wide camera with optical image stabilisation, a 12MP ultra-wide and a 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom, plus a 12MP front camera. Samsung's Photo Assist editing tools, including Generative Edit, are built in.
05Battery and charging
Samsung rates the battery at 4,000mAh typical when new, with up to 50% in about 30 minutes using a 25W adapter, plus Fast Wireless Charging 2.0 and Wireless PowerShare. A used battery has aged, so every grade has at least 85% battery health at dispatch.
06Software updates
Samsung commits to seven generations of Android upgrades and seven years of security updates for the S24 series, which went on sale worldwide in January 2024, so security support runs to 2031. Galaxy AI tools include Circle to Search with Google, Live Translate and Note Assist. Samsung notes that some Galaxy AI features need a network connection and a Samsung Account, and availability varies by region and language. Samsung first said its Galaxy AI features would be free until the end of 2025; its support pages now say basic Galaxy AI features provided by Samsung are free.

Our view
Is a refurbished Samsung Galaxy S24 worth buying in 2026?
Yes, if you want a small flagship with years of support left. From £360 it's about £439 less than Samsung's UK launch price of £799 for the 128GB model (Samsung UK Newsroom, January 2024). You still get a 3x telephoto, a 120Hz screen and updates to 2031. The trade-offs are 8GB of RAM, a 4,000mAh battery and 25W charging.
Who it's for
