01Network and SIM
An unlocked iPhone X works with EE, O2, Vodafone, Three and other UK networks over 4G LTE. There's no 5G and no eSIM: it takes one nano-SIM only, so eSIM-only plans won't work.
02Display
The iPhone X was Apple's first iPhone with an edge-to-edge OLED screen. Apple specifies 5.8 inches at 2436 x 1125 (458 ppi), with HDR and 3D Touch.
03Performance and storage
The A11 Bionic is the oldest chip we sell. It handles calls, messages, browsing and social media, but heavier apps and games feel slow. Apple offered 64GB and 256GB; the iPhone X 64GB suits light use. If you see a 128GB option on this listing, message us to confirm the storage before you order.
04Cameras
Apple fitted a 12MP wide camera (f/1.8) and a 12MP telephoto (f/2.4) for 2x optical zoom and Portrait mode. The 7MP front camera powers Face ID. There's no Night mode or Ultra Wide lens, so low-light photos are weaker than on an iPhone 11.
05Battery and charging
Apple rated the iPhone X at up to 13 hours of video playback when new, less than the XS (14 hours) or XR (16 hours). Batteries this old vary, so every phone has at least 85% battery health at dispatch. It charges via Lightning and Qi wireless.
06Software updates
The iPhone X's last major version is iOS 16; Apple doesn't list it for iOS 17 or later, including iOS 27. Apple still published security fixes for it in 2026, most recently iOS 16.7.16 on 11 May 2026, with no commitment to more. Some apps will stop installing on iOS 16 over time.

Is a refurbished iPhone X worth buying in 2026?
Only for limited uses. It no longer gets new iOS versions, so it suits a backup phone, a child's first phone with simple apps, or a music and camera device. For a main phone you'll keep, the iPhone 11 (from £199.99) runs iOS 27.
Who it's for

Is the iPhone X still worth buying in 2026?
Only as a budget spare, a child's first phone or a simple music and camera device. It's capped at iOS 16, so choose an iPhone 11 for a long-term main phone.
Is it unlocked?
Yes. It works with any UK network over 4G. It needs a physical nano-SIM because it has no eSIM.
Does the iPhone X still get updates?
Security fixes only. Apple released iOS 16.7.16 on 11 May 2026 for the iPhone X, but it can't install iOS 17 or later.
Does it support eSIM?
No. The iPhone X takes a single nano-SIM. eSIM arrived with the iPhone XS and XR.
What battery health will I get?
At least 85% on every grade, checked before dispatch. You can see the figure in Settings › Battery › Battery Health.
