01Network and SIM
An unlocked iPhone 12 Pro runs on EE, O2, Vodafone, Three and every UK network or MVNO. Apple lists sub-6 GHz 5G and Wi-Fi 6. Combine a nano-SIM with an eSIM for two numbers.
02Display
Apple rates the 6.1-inch OLED at 2532 x 1170 (460 ppi) with 800 nits typical brightness, brighter outdoors than the 625 nits of the iPhone 12, and 1,200 nits for HDR. It runs at 60Hz; 120Hz ProMotion arrived with the iPhone 13 Pro.
03Performance and storage
It uses the A14 Bionic, the same chip as the iPhone 12, so it's no faster for apps. Storage starts at 128GB, double the base iPhone 12, and the iPhone 12 Pro 256GB or 512GB options suit people who shoot a lot of 4K video.
04Cameras
This is the reason to choose the Pro. Apple specifies three 12MP cameras: Ultra Wide (f/2.4), Wide (f/1.6) and Telephoto (f/2.0) with 2x optical zoom in and a 4x optical zoom range. The LiDAR Scanner speeds up focus in low light and enables Night mode portraits.
05Battery and charging
Apple rated the 12 Pro at up to 17 hours of video playback when new, the same as the iPhone 12. A used battery holds less, so every grade has at least 85% battery health at dispatch. It charges by Lightning, MagSafe up to 15W or Qi up to 7.5W.
06Software updates
Apple includes the iPhone 12 Pro in its iOS 27 compatibility list (14 September 2026), and it received iOS 27.0.1 on 28 September 2026. Security updates depend on Apple's policy; check the latest status before you buy. There's no Apple Intelligence.

Is a refurbished iPhone 12 Pro worth buying in 2026?
Yes, if you'll use the telephoto lens. It's a lower-cost way to get optical zoom, LiDAR and a steel frame on iOS 27. If you only need a good main camera, the iPhone 12 does the same everyday jobs for £70 less and weighs 27g less.
Who it's for
