01Network and SIM
It's unlocked and works on UK networks that still run 2G, such as EE, O2 and Vodafone. It can't make normal calls or texts on Three, SMARTY or iD Mobile, because Three has never had a 2G network; only 999 calls can roam onto another network (Ofcom). As a 2G-only phone it gets no mobile data and no Emergency Alerts (GOV.UK). 2G is also closing: EE begins closing 2G from May 2029, O2 from summer 2029 and Vodafone in spring 2030, under the government's 2G Switch-off Charter (sources: EE, Virgin Media O2, VodafoneThree and GOV.UK, checked 5 Oct 2026). SIM support is listed as mini-SIM (single or dual SIM depending on the unit supplied).

HMD's specifications list a 2.0-inch TFT LCD, 120 x 160. It's a small, simple screen designed for calls and texts, with physical keys that are easy to use.
03Performance and storage
It runs a simple feature-phone system built for calls, texts, the radio and the classic games, with no apps to slow it down. Storage for contacts and messages is built in, and it takes a microSD card.
