Features

Every detail, verified.

01What's in the box

The Xbox Series X console and one Xbox Wireless Controller. Please message us before ordering to confirm whether the power cord, HDMI cable, AA batteries and original box are included. No games, subscriptions or download codes are included.

02Account and online play

You set the console up with your own Microsoft account. If you have any questions about account set-up, message us before ordering. The previous owner's digital games stay on their account. Most online multiplayer in paid games needs an Xbox Game Pass membership, sold separately by Microsoft.

03Performance and storage

Microsoft specifies an 8-core Zen 2 processor at 3.8GHz, a 12 teraflops RDNA 2 graphics chip and 16GB of GDDR6 memory. The 1TB NVMe SSD shortens load times, and Storage Expansion Cards (sold separately) add space if you keep many games installed.

044K, 120Hz and your TV

Microsoft rates the Series X for true 4K gaming with a performance target of up to 120 frames per second, through one HDMI 2.1 port. 4K at 120Hz needs a TV with a matching HDMI 2.1 input; on a 4K 60Hz or 1080p TV it still works, at your screen's limit.

05Disc drive and backwards compatibility

The standard Series X has a 4K UHD Blu-ray drive, so it plays game discs and Blu-ray films as well as downloads. Microsoft also sells a white 1TB Digital Edition with no drive, so if you play discs, message us before ordering to confirm which you'll receive. Microsoft says it runs thousands of Xbox One, Xbox 360 and original Xbox games.

Condition

What "Pristine Condition" means

Pristine Condition is our label for pre-owned items. This console has been used. It is not new or sealed; we test and clean it before listing. Pristine Condition means pre-owned and fully working, with little or no visible wear. We promise no cosmetic finish beyond that definition, and the photo is a product image, not your console.

Compare

How it compares

Xbox Series S: Microsoft specifies a 4 teraflops GPU, 1440p gaming, 10GB memory and no disc drive. We sell the Series S from £240 and this Series X from £400. PlayStation 5: Also targets 4K and 120fps; the choice usually comes down to exclusive games and which online service your friends use. Our PS5 vs Xbox Series X vs Switch OLED guide compares them side by side, and every console we stock is in our gaming collection.

Our view

Is it worth buying a pre-owned Xbox Series X in 2026?

For most buyers, yes. The Series X launched in November 2020, and a pre-owned unit has the same hardware as a new one of the same model. The trade-offs: it has been used, cosmetic condition is limited to our Pristine definition, and the warranty comes from us, not Microsoft.

Who it's for

Choose it if you have a 4K TV and want more power than the Series S. For a smaller, cheaper digital-only console, see the Xbox Series S. For local co-op, add a second Xbox Wireless Controller.
