Features
Every detail, verified.
01Network and SIM
This is the Wi-Fi model. It connects over Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), dual band and has no SIM or mobile data. If you need data away from home, you can share a connection from your phone, or choose the Wi-Fi + Cellular version.
02Display
Apple lists a 10.2-inch Retina display, 2160 x 1620 pixels at 264 ppi. It works with Apple Pencil (1st generation), sold separately.
03Performance and storage
The A10 Fusion chip with M10 coprocessor handles browsing, streaming, email, video calls and school apps. Storage options are 32GB or 128GB. Choose the larger size if you keep downloads, photos or offline video on the iPad. A Smart Connector on the side lets you attach a compatible keyboard without Bluetooth pairing.
04Cameras
Apple lists an 8MP rear camera and a 1.2MP FaceTime HD front camera. They are suited to video calls, scanning documents and casual photos.
05Battery and charging
Apple rates this iPad at up to 10 hours of web browsing on Wi-Fi or watching video when new. Our refurbished units have at least 85% battery health at dispatch on every grade, so expect slightly less than new. It charges through the Lightning port. It keeps the 3.5mm headphone jack.
06Software updates
The iPad 7th generation's last major software version is iPadOS 18. Apple's iPadOS 26 and later do not support it, so it will not get new iPadOS features. Some App Store apps already require a newer version, so check that the apps you need still support iPadOS 18 before you buy. Older iPadOS versions sometimes get security fixes after major updates stop, but do not rely on them. Source: Apple's iPadOS 26 compatibility list, https://support.apple.com/en-gb/123706.

Compare
How it compares
Compared with the iPad 6th generation, it has a larger 10.2-inch screen and a Smart Connector for a keyboard. Compared with the iPad 8th generation, it uses the older A10 Fusion chip and stopped at iPadOS 18 rather than iPadOS 26. See the refurbished iPad 10th generation or browse all refurbished iPads.
Our view
Is a refurbished iPad 7th generation worth buying in 2026?
Yes for everyday use on a budget, with a clear software limit to accept. It suits students, home use, note-taking with Apple Pencil (1st generation) and typing with a Smart Connector keyboard. The trade-offs are honest ones: the A10 Fusion chip is an older chip, the cameras are basic, and software support has ended at iPadOS 18.
Who it's for
Choose this refurbished iPad 7th generation for students, home use, note-taking with Apple Pencil (1st generation) and typing with a Smart Connector keyboard. If you need the longest software support, look at a newer model.
