01Network and SIM
An unlocked iPhone 16 works on every UK network, including EE, O2, Vodafone, Three and giffgaff. Apple specifies 5G, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3, with a nano-SIM plus eSIM, or two eSIMs at once.
02Display
Apple specifies a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED at 2556 x 1179 pixels, 1,000 nits typical and up to 2,000 nits outdoors. Apple doesn't list ProMotion, so 120Hz stays with the iPhone 16 Pro models.
03Performance and storage

04Cameras
Apple specifies a 48MP Fusion Main camera (ƒ/1.6) with a 12MP 2x Telephoto option and a 12MP Ultra Wide (ƒ/2.2), for a 4x optical zoom range. Camera Control on the side opens the camera and adjusts exposure and zoom with a thumb slide.
05Battery and charging
Apple rates it at up to 22 hours of video playback when new. Every grade has at least 85% battery health at dispatch. It supports MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging up to 25W with a suitable charger.
06Software updates
It runs iOS 27, released on 14 September 2026. Security updates depend on Apple's policy; check the latest status before you buy.

Is a refurbished iPhone 16 worth buying in 2026?
Yes, if you want Apple Intelligence and the A18 in a compact phone with two rear cameras and MagSafe. Security updates should run to at least 2029. The trade-offs are no 120Hz, USB 2 speeds and a 22-hour battery rating, below the iPhone 16e's 26 hours.
Who it's for

Yes, it's unlocked for all UK networks. It takes a nano-SIM and an eSIM, or two eSIMs.
What battery health will I get?

iPhone 16 vs 16e: which should I buy refurbished?
Buy the iPhone 16 if you want an Ultra Wide camera, MagSafe and Camera Control. Buy the 16e if you mainly want Apple Intelligence and the longest battery rating for less.
Should I get the 128GB or 256GB iPhone 16?
128GB suits light users who keep photos in iCloud. Choose 256GB if you film 4K video or keep lots of offline music and maps, because storage can't be added later.
How long will the iPhone 16 get updates?
At least until September 2029 for security updates, based on Apple's five-year minimum from first supply. It runs iOS 27 today.
Could my iPhone 16 be locked to someone else's Apple ID?
No. Before dispatch it's signed out of the previous owner's Apple ID with Find My and Activation Lock off, so you set it up as your own.
