01Network and SIM
Unlike the S20 and S20+, the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G had no 4G version (GSMArena; Mighty Gadget UK pricing). The UK and European model is the SM-G988B. It works on every UK network and falls back to 4G where 5G is missing. It takes a nano-SIM; eSIM support depends on the model supplied, so message us to confirm before you order.
02Display
The 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen is the largest in the S20 range, at 3200 x 1440 and up to 120Hz at FHD+ (GSMArena). Samsung lists 222g and 8.8mm.
03Performance and storage
It runs the Exynos 990 with 12GB of RAM on both storage options, per GSMArena. Choose 128GB or 256GB, plus microSD. No headphone jack.
04Cameras
Samsung specifies a 108MP main camera, a 48MP periscope telephoto (4x optical, 10x hybrid), a 12MP ultra wide and a depth sensor, plus a 40MP selfie camera. The marketed 100x "Space Zoom" is digital and much softer than the 4x–10x range.
05Battery and charging
Samsung rated the battery at 5,000mAh when new, the largest in the S20 range, with up to 45W wired charging (compatible charger needed, not included) and 15W wireless. Every grade has at least 85% battery health at dispatch.
06Software updates
It launched on Android 10 and ended on Android 13. Samsung dropped it from security support in April 2025 after the March 2025 patch (9to5Google), and it is not on Samsung's security update list checked on 30 Sep 2026.

Galaxy S20 Ultra vs S21 Ultra: GSMArena lists the S21 Ultra (from £260) with the Exynos 2100 and 3x and 10x optical telephotos. vs S22 Ultra: adds the S Pen and still gets quarterly patches. The S20 Ultra unlocked here is the lowest-cost route to a periscope zoom in our range.

Is a refurbished Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra worth buying in 2026?
Yes, if a long zoom camera matters most and your budget is about £240; no, if you need security updates or a light phone. It suits photographers on a budget or a travel and backup phone. The trade-offs are no patches since March 2025, 222g of weight and a chip two generations behind the S22 Ultra.

Is the S20 Ultra unlocked?
Yes, it is unlocked for all UK networks and works with any standard nano-SIM. You can switch networks whenever you like.
Is the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G?
Yes, every Galaxy S20 Ultra is a 5G phone; there was no 4G version. On UK networks it falls back to 4G where there is no 5G signal.
How good is the 100x zoom?
The 4x optical and 10x hybrid zoom are the useful range; 100x is digital and much softer. Treat 100x as a novelty rather than a reason to buy.
Does the S20 Ultra still get updates?
No, Samsung ended S20 Ultra security updates in April 2025 after the March 2025 patch. Android 13 was its final major version.
What battery health will I get?
At least 85% on every grade, checked before dispatch. You can see the figure in Settings › Battery › Battery Health.
