For most people choosing between these two budget Samsungs, the Galaxy A07 5G is the better buy. At £133.99 for 64GB (checked 5 October 2026) it costs £5 more than the 64GB Galaxy A07 (4G), and that £5 buys a 6,000mAh battery, a 120Hz screen and five extra months of security updates as well as 5G. The 4G Galaxy A07 still earns its place if you want 128GB of built-in storage, a slimmer and lighter phone, or two SIMs and a memory card in use at the same time.
One limitation applies to both. The Tech Gadgets sells them brand new and sealed as international stock, unlocked for UK networks, but Samsung doesn't list either model on its UK website, and box printing and model codes may differ from UK units. If you rely on Wi-Fi Calling or 4G Calling (VoLTE) on a particular network, ask the team to confirm it before you order.
Storage, colour and condition are chosen on the product page. Prices were checked on 5 October 2026 and can change.
Galaxy A07 or Galaxy A07 5G: the quick decision
- Best for most buyers: the Galaxy A07 5G, 64GB, £133.99. Bigger battery, smoother screen, a later update end date and 5G, for £5 more than the cheapest A07.
- Best for storage without a memory card: the Galaxy A07 (4G), 128GB, £141.99, if you keep a lot of photos, video or offline media on the phone itself.
- Lowest outlay on Samsung's six-year promise: the Galaxy A07 (4G), 64GB, £128.99, with about 59 months of security updates left from October 2026.
- Consider an alternative when: you want to pay with your phone (Samsung doesn't list NFC for either model), you'd like a sharper AMOLED screen or an ultra-wide camera, or you specifically want a model Samsung sells in the UK.
- Check before buying: 4G Calling and Wi-Fi Calling support on your network, whether you need two SIMs plus a microSD card at once, and whether 64GB will hold your apps.
Galaxy A07 vs Galaxy A07 5G: specifications and current options
Neither phone has a Samsung UK product page, so these specifications come from Samsung's regional websites and newsroom. Where Samsung doesn't state something, the table says so.

The second table shows what The Tech Gadgets lists today. Both are international stock, and Samsung doesn't sell either model through its UK website, so treat them as sealed new phones sold unlocked for UK networks, not as UK units or UK-range models.
| Listing at The Tech Gadgets | Condition | Storage and RAM | Colours | Price (checked 5 October 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Galaxy A07 (4G) | Brand new, sealed | 64GB, 4GB RAM | Black, Green, Light Violet | £128.99 |
| Galaxy A07 (4G) | Brand new, sealed | 128GB, 4GB RAM | Black, Green | £141.99 |
| Galaxy A07 5G | Brand new, sealed | 64GB, 4GB RAM | Black, Light Green, Light Violet | £133.99 |
Is the Galaxy A07 5G worth £5 more than the Galaxy A07?
Yes, for most buyers. £133.99 minus £128.99 is £5.00, and for that you get 1,000mAh more battery capacity, a 120Hz display instead of 90Hz, a newer Android version out of the box and security updates that run five months longer, to January 2032. The 5G modem is close to a bonus. The costs are 15g of extra weight and a hybrid card slot.
Spread across the 64 months of security support the A07 5G has left from October 2026, that premium is under £1 a year, which is why “do I need 5G?” is the wrong question to start with. The two phones share a screen size and resolution, a main camera and 4GB of RAM, but the A07 5G is a newer design with a different chipset and a bigger battery in a slightly thicker case.
The 4G Galaxy A07 keeps three real advantages. It's 0.6mm slimmer and 15g lighter. Samsung's specification gives it a dedicated microSD slot, so two SIMs and a memory card can all be in use together. And it's the only one of the pair sold here with 128GB. If none of those matters to you, the A07 5G is the straightforward choice.
Does 5G make a difference on a budget phone in the UK?
Less than the label suggests. 5G only works where you have coverage and a plan that includes it, and on a 720p screen everyday streaming, messaging, maps and browsing run comfortably on a decent 4G signal. 5G can help in busy areas, for large downloads and when you share your connection as a hotspot. Its strongest argument is that you can't add it later.
Two practical checks matter more than the 5G logo. First, if your SIM-only plan doesn't include 5G access, the A07 5G behaves like a 4G phone until you change plan. Second, check calling. UK networks have switched off 3G, so voice calls on both phones depend on 4G Calling (VoLTE), and because neither model is in Samsung's UK range, VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling support on a specific network can't be promised in advance. If Wi-Fi Calling matters because your home has weak signal, ask about your network before ordering. Our guide to how unlocked, SIM-free phones work on UK networks, including 5G covers the plan side.
So the 5G model earns its keep for anyone planning four or more years of ownership or regular hotspot use, while a buyer on a plan without 5G, or choosing a spare or first phone with a shorter planned life, gives up nothing they'd use by picking the lighter A07 (4G).
Battery and screen: 6,000mAh at 120Hz or 5,000mAh at 90Hz
The A07 5G's battery is 20% larger on paper: 6,000mAh typical against 5,000mAh, with a rated (minimum) capacity of 5,830mAh. We haven't measured either phone's battery life, so that figure describes what the battery can store, not a promise of 20% more time between charges; higher refresh rates can also use more power.
Samsung gives the A07 25W wired charging. The Samsung pages we checked don't state a charging speed for the A07 5G; The Tech Gadgets' listing says 25W. If both charge at 25W, the bigger battery simply takes longer to fill. The listings describe the box contents only as the manufacturer's standard contents, so if you don't own a USB-C charger, ask whether one is included.
Both screens are 6.7-inch PLS LCD panels at 720 x 1600. The difference is motion: scrolling looks smoother at 120Hz. Samsung publishes 800 nits in high brightness mode (650 nits typical) for the A07 5G and no figure for the A07, so we can't say which is brighter outdoors. Neither is sharp by current standards: a 720p panel at 6.7 inches looks softer than the full-HD AMOLED screens one step up the range.
Helio G99 or Dimensity 6300: will you feel a speed difference?
Probably not in everyday use. Both are 6nm octa-core chips paired with 4GB of RAM, and the A07 5G's fastest cores run slightly quicker on paper (2.4GHz against 2.2GHz). The Tech Gadgets hasn't benchmarked either phone, so we won't name a winner. Decide on battery, screen, storage and update support instead; the processor isn't what separates these two.
Samsung names the Helio G99 for the A07; for the A07 5G it gives only the 6nm process and clock speeds, and the Dimensity 6300 name comes from the listing and independent spec databases. In practice, 4GB of RAM is the bigger limit on both. Apps you switch away from may reload, and demanding 3D games aren't what either phone is built for.
64GB or 128GB: does £13 for storage beat £5 for 5G?
Only if you need the space on the phone itself. The 128GB Galaxy A07 (4G) costs £13 more than the 64GB version (£141.99 minus £128.99) and £8 more than the 64GB A07 5G (£141.99 minus £133.99). Both phones take microSD cards up to 2TB, which is the cheaper home for photos and music, but apps and much of their data must live in internal storage.
Part of the 64GB is used by Android and Samsung's software before you install anything. A buyer with a handful of apps who streams music will manage; someone who keeps years of WhatsApp media or downloads films for journeys will run short sooner.
The card slot is where the two phones really differ. Samsung's specification gives the A07 (4G) a dedicated microSD slot, so a work SIM, a personal SIM and a card can run together. The A07 5G's hybrid tray takes either a second SIM or a card. One caveat: The Tech Gadgets' A07 listing describes the tray as “nano-SIM + nano-SIM (or microSD)”, which doesn't match Samsung's spec, so if you need all three at once, ask the team to confirm the tray on the units in stock.
Choose the sealed 64GB Galaxy A07 5G when you use one SIM, or two SIMs and no card. Choose the 128GB Galaxy A07 (4G), listed in Black and Green only, when you need dual SIM and plenty of room.
How long will each phone get updates, and what does a year of support cost?
Samsung promises six years of security updates and six Android upgrades for both, counted from each model's first global launch. That puts the Galaxy A07 at 31 August 2031 and the Galaxy A07 5G at 31 January 2032. From October 2026 that leaves about 59 and 64 months respectively, which makes the 5G model the cheaper phone per year of remaining support.
The detail people miss is the starting point. The A07 launched in September 2025, so roughly a year of its promise has gone. The A07 5G reached its first markets from 30 January 2026 and started on Android 16 rather than 15, so its last major Android update should land one version further on.
The table divides each price by the years of security support left from October 2026, ignoring resale value.
| Phone, condition and storage | Price (checked 5 Oct 2026) | Security updates until | Months left from Oct 2026 | Cost per year of remaining support |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Galaxy A07 5G, brand new sealed, 64GB | £133.99 | 31 Jan 2032 | 64 | £25.12 |
| Galaxy A07 (4G), brand new sealed, 64GB | £128.99 | 31 Aug 2031 | 59 | £26.24 |
| Galaxy A07 (4G), brand new sealed, 128GB | £141.99 | 31 Aug 2031 | 59 | £28.88 |
| Galaxy A06 (4G), brand new sealed, 64GB | £115.99 | About Aug 2028 (computed) | 23 | £60.52 |
Method: price ÷ (months from October 2026 to the end month, inclusive, ÷ 12). For the A07 5G that's £133.99 ÷ (64 ÷ 12) = £25.12. The A06 date is computed from Samsung's four-year security promise and its August 2024 launch, because Samsung doesn't publish a “valid until” date for it. A phone keeps working after updates end, but it becomes a riskier place for banking and payment apps.
Stepping up from the Galaxy A06: what the extra £13 buys
The 64GB Galaxy A07 (4G) costs £13 more than the 64GB Galaxy A06 (4G): £128.99 minus £115.99. For that you get the 6nm Helio G99 in place of the Helio G85, a 90Hz screen instead of 60Hz, an IP54 rating where Samsung states none for the A06, and a much longer update promise: six Android upgrades and security updates to August 2031, against two upgrades and about August 2028.
The A06 matches the A07 on screen size, battery capacity, charging and main camera, so it can look like the same phone for less. The difference is time. The sealed Galaxy A06 (4G) at £115.99 costs more than twice as much per year of remaining security support, and even the 128GB A06 at £123.99 is only £5 less than a 64GB A07. The A06 fits only a short, defined job, such as a travel spare or a stopgap; anyone keeping a phone past 2028 gets better value from an A07.
If you were weighing the Galaxy A06 5G at £120.99 instead, the A07 costs £8.00 more and the A07 5G £13.00 more, for about 30 and 35 more months of security support. That uses the earlier of the A06 5G's two Samsung dates: its four-year promise points to about February 2029, while its Singapore specification says 31 March 2030, and the two don't line up.
What stays the same: cameras, build and the features neither has
Both phones use a 50MP f/1.8 main camera, an f/2.4 2MP secondary camera (Samsung calls it a depth camera on the A07 5G and doesn't name the type on the A07) and an 8MP front camera. Neither has an ultra-wide lens, so you can't step back for a wider group shot.
Both carry IP54, which is dust and splash protection, not submersion. Both keep a 3.5mm headphone jack and use two physical nano-SIMs with no eSIM.
The gap that catches people out is contactless payment. Samsung's specification sheets don't list NFC for either phone, and independent spec databases say neither has it, so neither A07 suits anyone who pays by phone.
Alternatives worth comparing at this price
Galaxy A07s: Open Box (Activated), international version, £137.99
The A07s is a regional 4G version of the A07 with a newer Helio G99+ chip, and the Open Box Galaxy A07s, international version is sold as activated stock despite “brand-new” in its web address. At £137.99 it's £9 more than the sealed 64GB A07 and £4 more than the sealed A07 5G. Its later security date (31 August 2032) is real, but it isn't sealed, Samsung UK may not service international units, and the cheaper A07 5G already brings 5G and the bigger battery.
Refurbished Galaxy A16 5G: from £128.99 in Very Good condition
For the same £128.99 as a sealed 64GB A07, a refurbished Galaxy A16 5G in Very Good condition gives you 128GB, 5G, a full-HD Super AMOLED screen, a 5MP ultra-wide camera and NFC, and it's a model Samsung sells in the UK (it has a samsung.com/uk product page). The listing also shows a Fair option from £119.99; the grading page doesn't define Fair, so ask the team about its condition before choosing it.
The trade-offs: it's a used phone with a battery at least 85% healthy at dispatch, it has no headphone jack, it's international stock like the A07 pair (so the calling check still applies), and Samsung UK's security date is 31 October 2030, 15 months before the A07 5G's, which works out at £31.59 a year. It's the better fit for anyone who ranks screen quality, NFC and the camera above a sealed box and the longest update runway.

Samsung Galaxy A07 5G, brand new and sealed
- 6,000mAh battery and a 120Hz screen (Samsung specification)
- Samsung security updates until 31 January 2032
- 12-month warranty from The Tech Gadgets, as listed on the product page (excludes accidental and liquid damage)
Who should not buy either Galaxy A07
- Anyone who wants to pay with their phone. NFC isn't listed for either model.
- People who want Samsung UK's own warranty service, a Samsung UK-range model or guaranteed Wi-Fi Calling before checking with the team.
- Keen photographers and gamers. One main camera, no ultra-wide and 4GB of RAM put both phones in the everyday-use bracket.
What “brand new and sealed” means for these two phones
Both listings describe the phones as new, unused and supplied sealed in the manufacturer's retail box with the manufacturer's standard contents. That's different from Open Box (Activated) stock, which has been switched on once, and from refurbished phones, which are used. With a new battery there's no battery-health figure to check; the 85% minimum The Tech Gadgets publishes applies to its refurbished grades.
IP54 is Samsung's design rating for a new phone, not a waterproofing promise, and liquid damage isn't covered by the warranty.
Do these checks in the first few days, while your 14-day right to cancel still applies:
- Check the seal and box before opening, and photograph anything that looks wrong.
- Open Settings, then About phone: the model number should start with SM-A075 (Galaxy A07) or SM-A076 (Galaxy A07 5G). The letters that follow vary by market, so contact the team only if that first part doesn't match.
- Check the storage shown matches what you ordered.
- Insert your SIM, make a test call and send a text. On the A07 5G, check that 5G appears where your plan and area support it.
- If you use Wi-Fi Calling, check it switches on and works at home, then run a software update.
Buying the A07 or A07 5G from The Tech Gadgets
For brand new phones like these, the product page and returns policy list a 12-month warranty from The Tech Gadgets, starting on delivery and covering faults that develop in normal use, not accidental or liquid damage; the terms are in the refund and warranty policy. Samsung UK may not carry out manufacturer warranty repairs on non-UK units like these, so don't assume its warranty applies. The warranty policy lists battery defects and reduced capacity as exclusions, but a battery that's faulty within 30 days is still covered by your Consumer Rights Act right to reject.
Change-of-mind returns are accepted within 30 days if the phone is unused and complete (you pay return postage), alongside your 14-day right to cancel, so do the arrival checks promptly rather than setting the phone up fully and deciding a fortnight later.
Orders placed by 3pm Monday to Friday are dispatched the same day from Manchester. That's dispatch, not delivery: standard delivery takes 1–3 working days and is free over £50, which covers both phones. The delivery and dispatch times page also lists next-working-day Special Delivery. To confirm the SIM tray or calling support on your network first, contact the team by email or WhatsApp.
Galaxy A07 vs A07 5G: buyer questions
Is the Galaxy A07 5G just a Galaxy A07 with 5G added?
No. The A07 5G is a separate model (SM-A076, against SM-A075 for the A07) with a different 6nm chip, a 6,000mAh battery instead of 5,000mAh, a 120Hz screen instead of 90Hz, a hybrid SIM and card tray, and a later launch on Android 16. It's also slightly thicker and heavier. Screen size and resolution, cameras, RAM and the IP54 rating are the same.
Does Samsung UK sell the Galaxy A07 or A07 5G?
No. Samsung doesn't list either model on its UK website, and neither is part of its current UK Galaxy A range, so neither is a Samsung UK-range model. The Tech Gadgets sells both brand new and sealed, unlocked for UK networks, and the listings say they work on EE, O2, Vodafone, Three and giffgaff. If you rely on Wi-Fi Calling or 4G Calling on a specific network, ask the team to confirm support before ordering.
Is 64GB enough on the Galaxy A07 5G?
For light use, yes. If you use a modest number of apps, stream rather than download, and back photos up to the cloud or a microSD card, 64GB is workable, though part of it is taken by the system. Heavy app users and people who keep years of chat media should consider the 128GB Galaxy A07 (4G), since apps can't all live on a card.
Do the Galaxy A07 or A07 5G support contactless payments?
Samsung's specifications don't list NFC for either phone, and independent spec databases say neither has it, so don't expect to pay in shops by tapping the phone. If phone payments matter, the refurbished Galaxy A16 5G lists NFC in Samsung UK's specification and costs from £128.99 in Very Good condition (checked 5 October 2026).
How long will the Galaxy A07 get security updates?
Samsung commits to six Android upgrades and six years of security updates, counted from the first global launch, and its Singapore specification gives a “valid until” date of 31 August 2031. From October 2026 that's about 59 months. The A07 5G's date is 31 January 2032, about 64 months. Both run far longer than the Galaxy A06, which ends around August 2028.
Does the Galaxy A07 5G charge faster than the Galaxy A07?
There's no evidence it does. Samsung states 25W wired charging for the A07. For the A07 5G, the Samsung pages we checked don't give a wattage, and The Tech Gadgets' listing says 25W. At the same rate, the A07 5G's 6,000mAh battery takes longer to fill from empty, in exchange for lasting longer between charges.
Verdict: the A07 5G for most buyers, the 128GB A07 for storage-first buyers
Buy the Galaxy A07 5G if you want the best all-round value of the two. For £133.99 it adds a 6,000mAh battery, a 120Hz screen, a later Android starting point and security updates to January 2032 over the cheapest A07, and at £25.12 it has the lowest cost per year of remaining support of the sealed options. The extra £5 is easy to justify even if you never connect to 5G.
Choose the Galaxy A07 (4G) instead when you need two SIMs and a memory card together, prefer the lighter body, or want 128GB built in; the 128GB version at £141.99 suits storage-heavy users better than a 64GB A07 5G. Look elsewhere if you want to pay with your phone, want a model Samsung sells in the UK or care about screen sharpness; the refurbished Galaxy A16 5G covers those at a similar price.
Storage, colour and condition are chosen on the product page. Prices were checked on 5 October 2026 and can change.
