01Network and SIM
It is unlocked for EE, O2, Vodafone, Three and all other UK networks, with 5G where available, and GSMArena lists nano-SIM and eSIM support.
02Display
GSMArena lists a 6.8-inch QHD+ (3200 x 1440) Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen at up to 120Hz, with gently curved edges and Gorilla Glass Victus. It is the sharpest screen of any S21 model and works with an S Pen, bought separately.
03Performance and storage
UK models use the Exynos 2100 with 12GB or 16GB of RAM, depending on configuration, and 128GB, 256GB or 512GB of storage. It is the most capable S21 for multitasking. There is no microSD slot.
04Cameras
It has a 108MP main camera, a 12MP ultra wide and two 10MP telephotos at 3x and 10x optical zoom, with a 40MP selfie camera. The S22 Ultra kept the same zoom layout.
05Battery and charging
The battery is 5,000mAh when new, with 25W wired and 15W wireless charging. The bright QHD+ screen draws more power, so battery grade matters. Every grade has at least 85% battery health at dispatch.
06Software updates
Samsung has ended updates for the S21 Ultra. Android 15 (One UI 7) was its last major upgrade, SamMobile reports its last security patch in November 2025, and it was missing from Samsung's security update list on 30 Sep 2026.

Is a refurbished Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra worth buying in 2026?
Only if you want 10x zoom on a tight budget and accept that Samsung no longer patches it. For £4.55 more, the Galaxy S22 Ultra adds a built-in S Pen and security updates until around February 2027.
Who it's for

Is the Galaxy S21 Ultra unlocked?
Yes. Every unit, from 128GB up to the Galaxy S21 Ultra 512GB, works on all UK networks, with 5G, a nano-SIM and an eSIM.
Does the S21 Ultra still get updates?
No. Samsung has ended updates; Android 15 (One UI 7) was the last upgrade. It still works, but without new security patches.
Does the S21 Ultra come with an S Pen?
No. It supports an S Pen, but none is included and there is no slot inside the phone. The S22 Ultra and later have one built in.
Is a refurbished Galaxy S21 Ultra worth it in 2026?
Only as a zoom-focused spare or budget phone. A used S21 Ultra no longer gets patches, while the S22 Ultra costs almost the same and is still supported.
