01What's in the box
The Xbox Series S console. Please message us before ordering to confirm whether a controller, power cord, HDMI cable and original box are included. A new Series S from Microsoft comes with a controller, an Ultra High Speed HDMI cable and a power cord, so don't assume a pre-owned one has all of them. No games or Game Pass membership are included.
02All-digital: what that means for you
There's no disc drive, so you can't play game discs, DVDs or Blu-rays, and a drive can't be added. Games are bought and downloaded from the Microsoft Store or played through Game Pass. If you own Xbox games on disc, you need the Series X. The previous owner's digital games stay on their account and aren't included.
03Performance and storage
Microsoft specifies the same 8-core Zen 2 processor as the Series X, with a 4 teraflops RDNA 2 graphics chip and 10GB of GDDR6 memory, targeting 1440p at up to 120fps. The 512GB SSD fills quickly with large games, so many owners add a Storage Expansion Card or keep older titles on a USB drive. Microsoft says it runs thousands of Xbox One, Xbox 360 and original Xbox games.

What "Pristine Condition" means
This Series S is pre-owned: someone has used it before, so it isn't new or sealed. We test and clean it before listing. Pristine Condition means pre-owned and fully working, with little or no visible wear. We promise no cosmetic finish beyond that definition, and the photo is a product image, not your console.

Our view
Is it worth buying a pre-owned Series S in 2026?
Yes, if you want current Xbox games at the lowest cost, for a bedroom TV, a 1080p or 1440p screen, or as a family console with Game Pass. It isn't built for native 4K, and 512GB is tight for big installs. Being pre-owned, it's used, cosmetic condition is limited to our Pristine definition, and the warranty is ours rather than Microsoft's.

Is this Xbox Series S new?
No. It's pre-owned and sold in Pristine Condition: used, then tested and cleaned. It isn't sealed.
Does it come with a controller?
Please message us before ordering to confirm. If a controller isn't included, you can add our pre-owned Xbox Wireless Controller.
Can it play game discs?
No. The Series S has no disc drive, and one can't be added. All games are downloaded.
Is 512GB enough?
It's enough for a handful of large games at once. Microsoft's Storage Expansion Cards add more, and older Xbox One games can be stored on a USB drive.
Who provides the warranty?
We do: 12 months from The Tech Gadgets, plus your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 if it's faulty.
