01Network and 5G
It is unlocked, so it works on EE, O2, Vodafone, Three, giffgaff, Tesco Mobile, Sky Mobile and other UK networks. 5G works where your network, plan and area support it.
02Display
Samsung specifies a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED screen at up to 90Hz, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. That's the same size and refresh rate as the Galaxy A16, so scrolling feels the same; the tougher cover glass is the difference you won't see.
03Performance and storage
The Exynos 1330 chip handles messaging, streaming, maps and social apps comfortably, but it isn't built for demanding games. Choose 128GB or 256GB, and Samsung UK says you can add a microSD card of up to 2TB (it shares the second SIM slot).
04Cameras
Samsung specifies a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 5MP ultra wide and a 2MP macro, plus a 13MP selfie camera. OIS is the main camera change from the A16: it steadies handheld video and helps in dim light.
05Battery
The 5,000mAh battery supports 25W wired charging, and Samsung quotes up to 18 hours of video playback when new. On a refurbished phone, remaining capacity depends on its history, so we check it against the grade standard above.
06Software updates
The A17 launched in August 2025 on Android 15. Samsung UK promises six Android upgrades and lists security updates until 31 August 2031, the longest runway of the refurbished A-series phones we sell.

Our view
Is a refurbished Galaxy A17 5G worth buying in 2026?
Yes, if you want a simple, big-screen Samsung that will get security updates for about five more years. The trade-offs are a 90Hz screen, IP54 splash resistance only and an entry-level chip.
Who it's for
It suits a first smartphone, a teenager's phone, or anyone who mainly calls, messages and browses. If you want a 120Hz screen and IP67 water resistance, look at the refurbished Galaxy A26.

Is this Galaxy A17 5G new?
No. It's refurbished: it has had a previous owner, then been tested and graded. The grade you pick (Like New, Excellent or Very Good) describes its cosmetic condition.
Will it be locked to someone else's Google or Samsung account?
It shouldn't be. If the phone ever asks for a previous owner's Google or Samsung account during set-up, contact us straight away. A phone you can't set up is faulty, so our 12-month warranty and your Consumer Rights Act 2015 rights apply.
Does it work with 5G on UK networks?
Yes. It's unlocked and works on all UK networks, and 5G works where your network, plan and area support it.
