01Network and SIM
This is the Wi-Fi + Cellular model, so it can use mobile data on 4G LTE networks with a nano-SIM and eSIM. It is unlocked, so it works with any UK network. It also connects over Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), dual band. A data plan is not included.
02Display
Apple lists a 10.2-inch Retina display, 2160 x 1620 pixels at 264 ppi. It works with Apple Pencil (1st generation), sold separately.
03Performance and storage
The A10 Fusion chip with M10 coprocessor handles browsing, streaming, email, video calls and school apps. Storage options are 32GB or 128GB. Choose the larger size if you keep downloads, photos or offline video on the iPad. A Smart Connector on the side lets you attach a compatible keyboard without Bluetooth pairing.
04Cameras
Apple lists an 8MP rear camera and a 1.2MP FaceTime HD front camera. They are suited to video calls, scanning documents and casual photos.
05Battery and charging

06Software updates
The iPad 7th generation's last major software version is iPadOS 18. Apple's iPadOS 26 and later do not support it, so it will not get new iPadOS features. Some App Store apps already require a newer version, so check that the apps you need still support iPadOS 18 before you buy.
